Last June, the 3rd and final LTTA for the Erasmus+ Project “The Change Starts with Us” took place in Braila, Romania. Participants from 6 countries embarked on this activity to broaden their knowledge about disabilities and ESL (Early School Leaving).
The 5-day activity brought together participants who had built up friendships over the duration of the project and were happy to see each other again.
First, the group visited a school for SEN students and took part in an art therapy session before a brief presentation from the headmistress.
It has been great to see the positive effect on both young people with and without disabilities, as well as the enjoyment that in each activity appeared seamless.
To sum up, this project helped young people to better understand what it means and how it feels to be a young person with a disability. They learned about the potential causes of exclusion amongst young people with disabilities and how they could help to make life easier for them.
It’s been a pleasure to see the aims of the project be achieved over the last 3 LTTAs and hope the friendships started amongst the participants in this project continue from this moment on.
