Mental Health Management – An Intern’s Story

In March, we welcomed Kimberly, a student from Malta who was studying Health & Social Care Management at MCAST.  Kimberly conducted her internship with a London-based Mental Health Charity, Find A Balance.
Kimberly hit the ground running and was quickly integrated into the team. Working closely with her manager Sam, Kimberly spent the first few weeks working on a variety of tasks and was given the opportunity of being involved in a number of areas.
The placement gave Kimberly a vital insight into Mental Health Management. She felt she gained good leadership skills, an understanding of how to deal with difficult situations, vulnerable people and their caseloads.  Kimberly was also involved in events, report writing, conducting research and setting budgets. Kimberly’s manager said, “She’s a fantastic individually and will be sorely missed”.
