In July, we welcomed Emma to the UK from the sunny island of Malta. Currently studying a degree in Fine Arts, Emma was already a rising star in the Maltese art scene and had her work on display on many occasions.
In March, Emma signed up to take part in an Erasmus+ internship in London and spent the following months preparing for her 9 week placement, while balancing her school and work life.

Upon starting her internship, Emma got involved with the team and took part in a wide range of duties from visual merchandising to workshop facilitation.
One of her managers, Jemma, said that “It’s been a pleasure to have Emma, she has brought some different skills that have helped the organisation”. She went on to say that “The gallery was very happy, not only with her work but also with her attitude”.
Emma is now halfway through her internship and is getting ready to host her very own workshop for today’s event. At this month’s Gallery Night, Studio Upstairs will be showcasing the work of artist Sue Thomas, alongside live music from Bianca Nicholas. These events are a great opportunity to explore the gallery, enjoy talks from the artist, and participate in some of their workshops!
Join us at the Studio Upstairs Gallery Night from 5:30 to 7:30pm
Address: Studio Upstairs, 2 – 4 Park Street, Croydon, CR0 1YE
